A SIP OF POETRY by Carol Mitra

About the book: A bouquet of poems that spreads it's sweet fragrance in these dark pandemic times. Drawing inspiration from nature and human connections, this selection of poems has been carefully crafted to lift the spirits and ponder about the nature of our existence.

About the author: Carol loves to design classic outfits for women and experiments with global fusion cooking. She is also a poet born of the pandemic times and have written and published more than 500 poems. This is the first anthology of her work. She currently resides in New Delhi with her husband and two children. For as long as I can remember, I have always thought in poetry. Even while devouring a particularly good piece of prose, I have wondered about the purpose of certain words and how they’d look like in a poem. But creating my own poetry, weaving my thoughts and words into my own language of expression – came to me much by chance. I consider it as one of life’s many amazing gifts – one that was bestowed upon me at an odd, strange time for the world.

SECULAR, SOCIALIST & RELIGION IN INDIA - THE MISCONCEPTIONS by PRAHALAD RAO

About the book:

"Constituent Assembly Debates, which made the Constitution of India, are the original source to understanding how the Constitution was made. The debates are bold and blunt, conducted using soft expressions and language. Terms such as socialist"" and ""secular were later inserted in the Preamble through the 42nd Amendment in 1976 and that opened up Pandora's box. Unfortunate derivation continued to progress, opening up opportunities to influence the meaning of socialism, secularism, and religion. Politicians didn't even glance at the spirited debates, on how those very words were usedto rench the consensus collectively among them. Inequality continued to increase year after year, which should not have been there after the insertion of those words. Politicians and religious leaders at that time considered it more appropriate to convert those words as more relevant terms like religion, caste and creed. There onwards, the country started experiencing a different taste of socialism, secularism, and religion. People tend to be generous when sharing their nonsense, fear, and ignorance. And while they seem quite eager to feed you their negativity, please remember that sometimes the diet we need to be an is a spiritual and emotional one. Be cautious with what you feed your mind and soul. Fuel yourself with positivity and let that fuel propel you into positive metion."" - Dr. Steve Maraboli. "

INDIA'S POLITICAL BLUNDERS BLEEDING ITS BORDERS

About the book

This book strives to find out how the rulers of our country missed the opportunities in hand to resolve the boundaries of India with Pakistan and China. The author has used the words "missed opportunities” because opportunities to settle the borders were offered to the rulers of that time. But what happened instead was the wanton self-denial of those opportunities. Those errors of judgment and political mistakes cost the country heavily, both in terms of loss of lives and increasing monetary burden.
What is waiting to come is difficult to predict. The author considers that the historical and legal documents of the past 200 years provide irrefutable grounds for India to reclaim the large tracts of land at the borders. The book urges the reader to think and wonder: how long will India wait for this settlement? How can we silence the borders any longer, when the noise has been growing louder for decades?

Understanding Parents Through Qur'an and Sunnah by Er.Tausique Ahmad Hashmi

 About the book

As the generations are heading with higher pace towards the technological
advancement, the attachment, adornment and understanding towards the parents
are also decreasing with much higher pace. Today parents are being disregarded
and disrespected in all forms. Qur’an has very strongly instructed not to say even
“uff” to your parents which is least and smallest way of showing disrespect and
dishonoring the parents. As if the word “uff” has encapsulated the entire theme and
road map how the treatment with the parents should be. There is such a strong
endorsement from Allah that do not say even “uff” to your parents.
This book dive deep into the various Qur’anic ayaat which have given parents a very
high status. There are many Qur’anic ayaat and authentic hadith which depicts the
respect, obedience, care, honor, kindness and dutifulness towards parents which are
discussed in this book in great details.
After reading this book, I hope that children will engage more and more with their
parents. Also it ignites our soul to understand the Qur’anic guidance about the
parents and triggers our heart and mind to love, respect, care, obey, treat and
address them with ihsan, in the best possible way.

Yours by Kakshma Gupta

About the book

This book is a tangible form of abstract and intangible human emotions woven into the threads of 13 poems. They are versatile in form but intend to convey the power of the brain, miseries of the heart, the acts of God, the lessons hard, the cry of hope and the visionary differences portrayed through personification and metaphors. Poetry is the most powerful tool to express feelings and emotions including those beyond ecstasy, avalanches of pain and social agendas that need consideration. This book is very close to my heart as it contains some of my writings from almost a decade ago. The title YOURS depicts the journey from you to yours and back forth. A lifetime is divided into being ‘yours’ (towards family, lover, kin, organisation, society etc) and at the same time to being ‘YOU’ yourself which is a unique creation of the Almighty sent for an even unique purpose. During this journey, we come across a plethora of sentiments as we walk, we grow, we learn, we win, we lose, get loved and betrayed. I look forward to my readers relating to one poem or the other and enjoy the journey ahead.

About the author

Kakshma is a banker by profession but has a writer’s heart. She’s been brought up in the City

What have inspired her greatly, are the beautiful poems by Percy Bysshe Shelley and William Wordsworth and her love in her real life.
Most admired by her are the lines ‘If winter comes, can spring be far behind’ from ‘Ode to the West Wind’ by Percy Bysshe Shelley as she considers these words to be no less than a life coach.

"To Make Us See What We See": Impressionism in Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness by Indrani Chaudhuri

About the book

This book is an intriguing and intimate study of the dialogues forged between different forms
of art, paintings and texts in particular. It entwines art with literature to create a complex yet
marvellous mosaic of textures hitherto undiscussed in this manner. Reading, here, becomes
both painting and travelling through Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness and the works of the
French Impressionist painters of the nineteenth century. Through an exploration of the
distinctive characteristics of the paintings of Monet, Manet, Renoir, Pissarro, Cézanne and
even Van Gogh and Gauguin, this book tries to decipher the codes and symbols of Conrad’s
enigmatic novella. By taking the help of intertextuality, interdisciplinary and
multidisciplinary approaches, detours and retours through time and space, this book offers
extensive readings of texts on art, literature and Conrad’s works. Reading Heart of Darkness
in this manner emerges as a kind of journey through the continents of imperial Europe and of
colonized Africa, through diverse cultures, imaginary geographies, psychological processes
that separate one human from another, through the metaphors and metonymies of the modern
malaise that vacillated from Darwinian theories of evolution to Nietzsche’s proclamation of
the death of God.

About the author

degree from the University of Calcutta, M. Phil from Jadavpur University, and a Ph. D degree

Doosra Pehlu by Nirmala Rawat

 About the book

The book " Doosra Pehlu"( language -Hindi with a slight tinge of English) by the author Mrs.Nirmala Rawat depicts the other side of parenting and schooling. The book is full of beautiful
quotes, references ( of various authors), insights, analogies, instances which elaborate how
judgments or labels may damage a child's cognitive domain. Disempowered grown-ups
disempower children that further turns into complex behavioral patterns or we can say
personality disorders(which are acquired and can be deleted). A child's very simple needs if
remain unmet in the early stage, take various forms and re-create patterns that may be self-destructive ( in order to fulfill those unmet needs) !! The book is an outcome of the keen observation, experience, vision, and passion of the author. And it will definitely prove a big help in
improving the parent-child equation where the child will be treated as an equal and not as subordinate.
The core message of the book is that a child needs unconditional acceptance first and anything
else second or third . The child must be seen and heard and protected at all cost. Acceptance
and compassion to children will lead to a crime-free, addiction-free social scenario for sure!!
So get ready for a joyous, emotional ride !!

About the author

The author, Nirmala Rawat, was born in a humble family in Ajmer. She is a full-time teacher
for the last two decades. An avid reader and a nature lover, she wants to break the illusion of
grown-ups (especially parents and teachers ) who think that a child can be insulted in the name
of marks or just because of his or her small age. That's not the case! Parents generally have a
hypnotic hold on the child whether they know it or don't know! Our author gets pained to see-
how illusioned or self-absorbed parents disempower their own children. She decided to write
this book and she is very hopeful that her experience, passion as well as reasons will help
parents directly ( and the children indirectly ) because she has seen a paradigm shift in the
behavior of people once their illusion is gone!

Moon Bites by P. Bala S Devi

About the book

Poetry emerged as the primal and primary form of any language and carries the weight of the antiquity of eons. Older than history and as old as any religion, it has evolved through various forms and still stays multi-faceted and multi-colored. Nothing can teach and guide better than what the aesthetics of poetry could possibly do. This book is a few strands of such aesthetics that the author has strongly enjoyed and experienced.
