About the book
Tales of a Legal Alien explores and pinpoints the anecdotes from the life of a student - a foreign student in India, Mumbai in particular. It brings to light the support the author received from his new friends and college staff. It reveals some of the most good - hearted and most generous Indians the author met and whose special treatment of him gives him a different and a better way of looking at India. The book also points some few moments where the author has been truly treated as an alien on the streets of the city of Mumbai.
About the author
Dut Alsherif is a South Sudanese student who came to India in July, 2019 with the help of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), after he won the government- sponsored scholarship for the undergraduate programme. He is currently a student at Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies, one of the media colleges affiliated to Mumbai University, where he is pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia and Mass Communication as a second year student.
