About the Book

These ghazals and geets have been written by me with a lot of love and passion. The words just came to me spontaneously from the depths of my heart. The book is written in Hindi and Roman English for anyone who is unable to read Hindi. I narrated my first ghazal, "waqt chalta raha," at a private party and received very positive feedback from the guests. They said it was very touching and felt like it was from my own life experiences. This is very true as All the ghazals are based on true events in the journey of my life. I have tried to relate the soul of each ghazal to an appropriate picture. I am very thankful to all the people who provided their beautiful pictures and encouragement. I hope you enjoy this combination of beautiful pictures and ghazals and travel through this journey with me.

About the Author

I wrote my first poem, ‘Sima toot chuki hai, which was left unfinished. Years later, I found it. Reading it and reflecting on it, I felt the urge to write again. A touching event in my life sparked the notion to write again, which I did spontaneously. This was well received by my friends. That was my first ghazal. After finishing my law degree in 1975, I moved to London two years later. I really missed my old life. Remembering those touching moments, I started writing again. Another hobby of mine is taking beautiful pictures. Some of these pictures were reproduced by me and are in the book. I have also reproduced pictures taken by friends and family and included them in my book. Jinkayee Liyee… is my first book. I truly hope you like it and give me further encouragement to write.
