Jaya Kapoor is a Professor in the Department of English at the University of Allahabad. A poet for many years, she has also translated works by several renowned writers, with her poetry featured in magazines and anthologies over time. This debut collection brings together her bilingual poetry in a single volume, reflecting her belief that poetry communicates both through words and beyond them. Inspired by her son Shivang, this book marks a deeply personal milestone in her literary journey. She has translated works of Nagarjun and Manto and is currently engaged in translating major women poets. Beyond literature, she actively participates in cultural activities, including theatre, where she has acted and assisted in multiple productions.
