About the Book

Tantric tradition in India or Odisha stemed from Pre-historic period. For a long time this tradition controlled the life style of common people. The Tantric Guru or Sadhak habitually indulged themselves for siddhi to get control over both animate and inanimate things. They became Superman and that Supermanhood was adored and adorned for centuries. This novel started from that Tantric Supermanhood and ends in that way of supernatural realm of power. As a whole, in this novel, evolutionary phases of Budhisim up to Bajrayana Sahajayana (all tantric Budhisim), it’s historical necessity as well as its impact on life for king to common mass have been quested for on the backdrop of Bhauma rule in Odisha, the chief patron of development of Budhisim in Odisha i.e. from 736 to onwards for a period of on hundred years only. Besides, it also highlights on the ancient maritime system, transformation of ideas to sculpture, secrecy of dance, worship, rituals and also keledoscopic socio-cultural facts and facets.

About the Author

Pradeep Dash is the favorite name of a storyteller and fiction writer of our time in Odiya literature. To his credit eleven short story collections in both Odiya and English have been published so far and for short story he had been awarded Odisha Sahitya Academy Award in 1998. Similarly in his literary account, three epoch making novels have been deposited till date which are entailed with distinguished award each i.e. Rajdhani Book fair Award 2007 for ‘A village in the Jaw of Subarnas,’ Fakirmohan Sahitya Parishad Award-2012 for ‘Peta Patna’ & Sarala Puraskar -2019 for Charu Chivara and Charya, a Budhist novel. Two of his novels are in the syllabus of some of the universities in Odisha. Presently Shree Dash is Director, Secondary Education, Government of Odisha.
