About the book


This tale is based on an adventure which took place in a Tea plantation in the
Nilgiris in S. India in the year 1945, prior to Conservation laws prohibiting the
shooting of tigers, except man-eaters, had been enforced and the Manager,
Mr P.W. Davidar was asked to shoot a tiger that frequently strayed into
the Tea-garden , petrifying Tea-pluckers and also lifting cattle that grazed. 


About the author


Author has served as an English lecturer at Lady Doak College, Madurai, Auxilium College,
Katpadi, and Mount Carmel College, Bangalore all in S. India. Took to writing at an early age, inspired and encouraged by the writers in the family. A respite from teaching during plantation years, provided both opportunity and ambience for creative writing, and during this time wrote Tales from the Wild (Macmillan India) Grandpa’s Jungle Tales (Orient Longman), Wild and Beautiful (Better Yourself Books), Paths to excellence (BYB). Power to Victory was published recently by Kingdom Books. At eighty still going strong writing more books, fuelled by robust faith and an undying interest in readership for children.
