Anu Didi’s Monthly Visitor by Anaiya Naroola

About the Book

Aum loves his big sister, Anu Didi, and the two of them do everything together. But Aum is very puzzled by the way his sister feels unwell once every month and is unable to go to school or play badminton with him. What Aum does not know is that his sister has a monthly visitor: menstruation! Join Aum as he learns more about his sister’s monthly visitor, and see him grow into an understanding and supportive younger brother as his sister goes through the changes faced by young women all over the world. This book is written in an effort to increase awareness of menstruation and reduce the stigma around it. We hope that these pages have helped the reader understand and articulate the body’s natural processes and realize that ‘menstruation’ is not just a women’s issue - conversations around it need to be normalized across diverse demographic groups if we hope to live in a world where people are not embarrassed by their bodies—a world where we feel free and uninhibited and are able to be both, proud and compassionate toward ourselves and others!"

About the Author

Anaiya Naroola is a student at the Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram, New
Delhi. Anaiya has been involved with community service for several years,
and is the Founder of Project Promise - a social initiative that focuses on
promoting both mental and physical health and wellness in underserved
communities across India. As a part of her initiative, she has worked to
holistically educate people on the importance of meeting one’s nutritional
needs, reducing stress and anxiety, as well as the benefits of mindfulness,
yoga, and meditation.

She is most passionate about spreading informed awareness and
de-stigmatizing menstruation and wishes to empower young women to act
with agency and confidence. In August 2020, she launched an online
fundraiser and raised INR 25,000 to promote menstrual hygiene and
provided dignity kits that included sanitary pads, soap, water, and food
items to 400 women in Kashipur and Ramnagar in Uttarakhand. Further,
to bolster the positive impact of this initiative, she collaborated with AAN
Charitable Trust to conduct an awareness program for girls on the occasion
of Diwali at the Kavita Bisht Women's Skill Center & Support Home
helping them with the sales of diyas and Diwali ornaments. Further, in
2021, she raised INR 70,000 for providing covid-safety kits to the students
at TARA, New Delhi. She also continually makes shareable digital content
in Hindi to make health and nutritional information accessible for women
from vulnerable groups in collaboration with Ficci Flo - an all India
non-profit organization for women.

When she is not writing, you will find her slaving away at a kitchen counter
and trying every recipe from her grandmother’s list of dishes at home or
pirouetting away, exhibiting her love for the dance form of Kathak.
She ardently hopes that ‘Anu Didi’s Monthly Visitor’ will make the readers
better understand and access the tabooed issue of menstrual health, and
play its part in destigmatizing the issue in a sensitive, age-appropriate, and
light-hearted manner, and that they will enjoy reading this book from cover
to cover as much as she enjoyed writing it.
Happy reading!

Birds of Hempur by Pramila Churamani

 About the book

This book is the author’s first attempt to present a glimpse of the beauty stored in the lush greens of hempur, the book comprises of the birds found in this hidden oasis of Uttarakhand. It is an insight through pictures of a cantonment beaming in harmony with nature

About the author

Mrs Pramila Churamani is a homemaker, wife of an army officer, mother to a veterinarian daughter, and an engineer son, the backbone behind this diverse family. She has always motivated her kids to pursue their dreams wrapped in a brown parent & prudence. Still, she didn't limit her care to just them. She is a MA in English and later went on to earn a degree in B.Ed. As a philanthropist, she uses her skills to shape the young minds of

underprivileged families. She also educated the kids of her charlady and provided for their schooling at every station. She served as the principal of Shaurya army pre-primary school,  which achieved great heights under her tutelage.
She also imparted training to NTT students to create an army of quality preceptors responsible for developing basic cognitive skills among nursery children.
Looking at her commendable journey so far, bird watching came as a realisation during her tenure at Hempur. Our author regrets being late in realising this hobby of hers, she regrets the ignorance towards her surroundings and the abundance of vibrant life right under her nose even more.
However, as they often say, better late than never, with a wrap on this tenure, it is a start of more incredible explorations for Mrs Pramila. Our author would like her readers to note the virgin forest range of Hempur has much more
undiscovered flora and fauna, few could be new, and many may be beyond my scope of knowledge. I tried to learn, explore and know as much as I could within the given time on my hand. It has been a journey of infinite learning for me, a real eye-opener. In this process, I have developed a great sense of respect for all the professionals in this field. The hard work and patience required to capture these sensitive and hypervigilant creatures, their intelligence is immaculate, the caution and alertness which they possess, the distance they maintain, I can vouch for their genius, as I faced difficulties to even capture a peacock, the region has not been exposed to tourists, and this fact works as a curb since the wildlife here is not acquainted with any unnatural or human movement. I will always be ever so thankful to almighty for exposing me to this experience of learning and a better understanding of mother nature and her cosmos.

Guldan by Sant Kumar Gaur

 About the book

Between Alphabet ( A) to Zillion (Z) whatever is there in this dynamic world is expression by way of words articulated in phonetics of vibration. The sound so generated is all pervading. It is there in the genesis as well as in annihilation. It is present in music, rhythm, beats and intonation while it is live and active in expressions of Nature. It exists in the oblivion as well as in the state of self absorption. It is sound only that roars in the rising tides of ocean, in the soft flow of rivers and in the lightening discharge of cumulonimbus clouds. Sound is there in taste, color as well as emotions. It reverberates in hearts and is etched into the feelings . These when find expressions through the brush of imagination over the canvas of memories via colours of emotion, a poetry takes birth. Working with dry mathametical equations and rough thumping of hammers in the workshop, something unusual happened and the sensitised mind started feeling pain, compassion , rejections , aggression and anxiety scattered in the inner echelon of human emotions all around its existence . This acted as an stimulant to trigger expressions in the form of poetry which collectively gave birth to Guldaan. Guldaan is thus a dive into the depth of human emotions with shades of love, tragedy, ecstasy, devotion and valor. I am of firm belief that my worthy readers would enjoy this deep dive. Their blessings and love , I am sure, would pave a new path to explore Gulshan after Guldaan.
