"Born in an ordinary Punjabi family, Yashindra Bhardwaj is a freelance writer. She has written on various social issues. Her forte includes her writings on women's issues, including women empowerment. Her long stories in Hindi and Punjabi have been broadcasted on All India Radio and published in various magazines and Newspapers. One of her stories Apna Ghar was awarded as the best story for the year 2010. Her writing extensively focused on society’s attitude towards women’s equality. The depth of her work forces its readers to think about the reality of women’s abysmal situation in our patriarchal society and separate facts from perception.
