Krish Smita - The Smile of the Lord by Ram Prasad Kar

About the book

Krish Smita- The Smile Of The Lord, is a collection of some poems written in two forms, most
of them are in formal verse i.e. in rhyming form and some are written in free verse. The topics in the
poems include philosophy, nature, love, some real-life incidents, stereotypes prevailing the society,
imagination of the poet, day to day life of people, etc. There are lot of things the poet has expressed
in his poems which he could not have ever expressed elsewhere.
The poet hopes that his works will reach the hearts of his readers. Out of all the lines he has
written, he wishes at least the readers should remember the following:
“With nectar of love occlude heart’s moral gap,
Sculpt a realm safe as a mother’s lap.”
“Besides chasing lust or a beautiful face
A lot is left to be given to this race.”
“Life in state of oblivion is greatest curse.
Purest love in the existence is between person and its purpose.”

About the author

Ram Prasad Kar is a young poet from Salipur, Cuttack, Odisha. After reading
the poem “The Solitary Reaper” by William Wordsworth he fell in love with poetry and started
reading old poets like William Wordsworth, Robert Frost, Lord Byron. He says, the seed of the love
for English Language was planted in his heart by his teacher Prof. Ashis Kumar Baral. When he saw
that for today’s world the rhyming form of poetry has become a thing of past, he wanted to write
poems and show that this writing style still will be appreciated by today’s readers. But at a point in
time when doubts started to rise, his teacher’s words came to his rescue “If you lose a man will lose
and if you succeed an art will be revived”.
