There are numerous book on Vedic Mathematics authored by scholars and trainers. Vaidic Ganita I is a simple book which can be followed by all and has a systematic approach towards learning the subject. The content, therein, been organised in such a manner that the student
learns
a) the basic formulae (sutras), corollaries (upasutras) and special methods (vidhis) used and
b) the basic arithmetic topics using the aforementioned methods.
The concepts are explained in an easy to understand language supported by a few worked out examples.With regular practice, a student will be able to solve arithmetical problems mentally and quicklythus increasing focus and keen observation skills. This subject is also considered as a great brain development program.

About the author

Priti Gorsia Chawla was born in Calcutta (now Kolkata) in 1963. Growing up, she studied Core Mathematics till Higher Secondary Level. Over the next 15 years, she taught mathematics, informally, across all school boards while running her Interior design business.

She came across Vedic Mathematics when she attended a few workshops with the legendary
Shakuntala Devi, while in her school years, and has been, ever since, exploring the subject.
She moved to Mumbai, in 1992, after her marriage. As a housewife, she continued to teach maths
and also developed a keen interest in cooking, naturopathy and cosmetology. Over the years, she has written four cookbooks that will soon be released as well. She is also keenly interested in music, crosswords, sudoku and sports like tennis, squash and swimming. She is a qualified Vedic Maths trainer and this is her first book on the subject.
