“Thirteen Cactuses” By Charu Gupta

Stories never end at a full stop, they continue after the semicolon; this is what this book is all about. A story has a protagonist and many other characters passing by but each character has its own story to be unfolded. They are tangled tales, crossing each other’s path and sometimes coming face to face. It is a story of Meera, Padmaja, and Nisha; their lives cross paths in ‘Thirteen Cactuses’. You can call them love stories but in each story, love had a different face. Meera was unaware of the presence of love, Padmaja buried it deep inside and Nisha set it free. Their stories will definitely remind you of some moments from your own life because no story is just a story but a river of stories.
She has been very fortunate to get opportunities to work in various fields. She has worked with travel agencies, catering firms, an export house, when finally teaching happened for her. For the last 15 years, she’s a teacher and has taught in a few good schools. Her creative edge and the urge to express her thoughts through writing made her a blogger. Her fondness for dramatics led her to write scripts for annual days and special assemblies. Storytelling is one of her favorite teaching methods. One day the idea of writing a book germinated in her mind. She gathered her interactions with people around and with some imagination weaved a story. Everyone has stories to tell and the storyteller in the author is ready with her first tale- ‘Thirteen Cactuses’.
