"Dare Delhi" By Ruchir Verma

Devi grows up as an ordinary girl in the lanes of Chandni Chowk. She lives a carefree and happy life until her best friend Pooja is raped and killed by someone they knew and trusted. Devi decides to seek vengeance and crosses over to the dark side.

When her parents become a victim of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, Devi moves temporarily to New York to gather herself. While helping her uncle who works for the US District Court for the SDNY, Devi develops a balanced sense of justice and finds a real purpose to her life.

Back in Delhi, Devi balances her dark side with a sense of greater good. Along with her childhood friends, she forms a gang to help those in need. With small successes, they grow from strength to strength and many well-wishers join the ‘Devi of Delhi’ in the pursuit of righteousness. With their personal examples, they Dare the ordinary Delhi’ites to Care for others.

Not a superhero story but it is the story of everyday superheroes amongst us who go an extra mile to make this world a better place.
