"Agape" By Ela Baijal

The book's title Agape (Ancient Greek ἀγάπη, agapē) itself suggests, its a story about unconditional love , in which love isn't just a feeling but a joyful resolve.

A middle-aged widower, Elan has cocooned himself and his daughter, Liza from the outside world and from an inside secret. On the other hand, Dr. Alena has lived largely through her work treating critically ill children. But when the two meet, an intense and passionate love blooms between them swiftly dismantling the life both had constructed zealously.

Their relationship faces no outside hurdles, as Elan has no siblings and had lost his parents long back. While Alena's father Antony, is excited to see his daughter move on, after having a debilitating past. However, her mother Gurpreet is skeptical about survival of their free spirited love in such an orthodox society.

Elan and Alena soon discover that while their unconventional relationship feels wonderful, real-life challenges in the form of conditioned patterns of behaving and thinking stultify the experience. They realise that immense inner work would be required by both to break through the preset patterns.

Can they find some solutions about living their life without conditions? Or would they continue to sustain self imposed invigorating pain? And if they succeed in living and loving on their own terms, what path will their unconditional love for each other take?
