“Nature Of Mind” By Ramkishan Chauhan

The book describes the struggle of an aspirant of truth who wanted to experience peace and freedom in his life. The guidance of spiritual masters leads him to the process of self-inquiry i.e. to search ‘Who Am I’. This process revealed to him imposter nature of mind. The mind plays the double role of a friend and foe.
He further learned from the Gita that he is the charioteer and mind is his driver (servant). He started understanding the difference between the working of mind and heart. The heart is a treasure of human virtues and divinity whereas mind is an instrument which plays a double role as a friend and foe. It is deceitful by nature. It creates illusions and provokes you to several unwanted temptations. The book describes this nature of mind. Through teachings of the masters, he learned how he can enjoy blissful state.
Buddha’s philosophy of cause and effect taught him that our nature is like a seed and our circumstances are its result. So to change your circumstances you need to change your nature. Positive thinking and welfare of others bring positive results and negative thinking brings sorrows, sufferings and negative results. In brief slavery of mind is the greatest cause of our sufferings. So we should be master of our mind to enjoy our inherent peace and freedom.
